ERW Tube Mill
ERW is a very popular METAL and one of the cheapest types of steel available. It’s found in almost every metal product. This type of steel contains less than 2 percent CARBON, which makes it magnetise well. Since it’s relatively inexpensive, ERW is useful for most projects requiring huge amounts of steel. ERW TUBE mill is called ERW TUBE MILL because the type of the STEEL used in the process of TUBE/PIPE manufacturing is ERW.
Because it is a soft material, ERW is easy to weld, whereas high-carbon steels, such as stainless steel, require the use of specialised welding techniques. Also electricity can flow through ERW easily without impacting its structural integrity. ERW is a variant of hard steels, which makes it much less brittle and enhances its flexibility.
ERW is often used in applications such as mounts or spacers on heavy equipment or off-highway machinery. This type of steel is often used in manufacturing due to the ease with which it can be welded. The steel requires no pre- or post-weld heating in order to ensure the quality of the weld. In cases where the steel is bent at extreme angles, heating the material allows the stresses on the material to relax. Normalising, tempering and forging are all part of the heat treatment process for ERW.
